1.         The first video I watched was Architecture: The Science of Design. The main points I took from this video were about the city skyscrapers and how they affect urban development. Skyscrapers are superstructures that take up a massive amount of space. The video goes on to to talk about the effects of pollution and wind and how comfortable the residents are. The next concepts discussed are the smart apartments that are being established that are a dream home that listens to your commands and adjust to your needs. The final key concept I learned was about concrete and how it is made and the different methods behind it.  The next video I watched was the one about Frank Gehry. He is an architect whose style is constantly evolving. The videos talks about this unique style using shapes, open space, and natural light. He uses the technical advances of the world to maintain his constants and incorporates this into the buildings he designs. I learned a lot about Gehry and his urban theory and landscape ideas to form harmony and functional structures.
2.         The videos relate to the readings because they highlight the same key concepts. The beginning of the chapter touches on the structural systems in architecture and the building design. It than goes over the construction styles used like load bearing construction, post and lintel and which relates back to both of the videos. The most interesting thing in this chapter were the different famous structures around the world that use popular forms of design. The forms of architecture used in the most famous buildings are domes, spherical, iron structures, columns, and much more.
3.         Both of these films helped my understanding of architecture in the modern and new technological world. It is important to come up with new and creative ideas in this ever changing world, and these videos show key examples. Architecture is always changing over time, and the films showed how the older ways of design are being incorporated with todays new technology.

4.         I chose these films because they seemed to be the most modern and up to date with the world we live in. they included new ways of thinking and designing that will be forever changing. The videos seemed appealing to me since I am a supporter of the new ways technology is impacting parts of our every day life that we didn’t think was possible.

1.         For the first video there were a lot of key concepts about sculptures and how they create their work. I learned that the creation process of a sculpture includes clay, bronze, limestone, and marble. There are multiple different ways an artist can go about making their sculpture, but they cannot put their ideas to life if they cannot imagine it in their head. The sculptures start off with the idea and they get put on paper and the process goes on from there. For the second video, I learned about the creation of glass. The video went over the process of mixing the glass, how it is blown, shaped, hardened, and reheated. The color and design is very precise in glass. The different tools were discussed along with techniques artists use.

2.         The videos relate directly to the reading in the text because they both go over different forms of 3d art. Along with talking about clay and glass, the text focus’ on carving, the creation of human figures in sculptures, working with time and place, metal, wood, and fiber. The text goes into detail on how each of these elements works and showcases different artists work in that field. It was interesting to see other examples besides clay and glass and learn the history behind them.

3.         3.The artists add depth to the topics of sculpture, installation, and craft by going through the in depth process that is unknown to most people. Before watching these videos, I did not know about any of these processes but now I am educated about them. The ideas in these artists’ minds need to be formed into the final product. My opinion of the videos was positive because I was very informed with material I did not know about. The videos truly made me understand what exactly goes into the modeling of glass and clay.

2.         I believe the imagines that she picked out were well done and had multiple art elements in them. All works of art include multiple elements, so some of her imagines including the colorful square piece, the fire, and the buildings cold of been labeled under other elements. I do agree with her decisions and where she located her pictures. Overall I enjoyed looking at this project.

3.         There are no photos that are the same as mine but they are awesome works of art. I read all of her explanations of how she categorized the art and I agree with the way she did this. She seems to have deep connections with some of the art and I learned a lot about the pieces from her descriptions. The reason she picked them were the same I picked mine because art can affect people in many ways but it makes you think more about the piece.

4.         My favorite image that she picked that I truly connect with is the piece from an artist named Nana. She described the piece for being mixed media and how it relates to a girl growing up in todays society. The idle body type being described as mixed media because it shows the connection between them. I would love to know more about this artist and what she was going though to have a piece like this.

5.         I honestly did not think this advanced my learning but I did enjoy reading and looking at her points of view on different pieces of art. The process of looking at their work and analyzing them was interesting.

6.         I liked reading what the class thought of my work. I put a lot of time and effort into this class and its refreshing seeing that my hard work pays off. I also liked getting their advice because I will use that for my future projects.

2.         I love the images that she picked out for her project because many of them has the same nature theme and as a viewer I was able to pick and choose which elements I believed belonged to each work. The nature theme was a creative idea and I will definitely think about doing something like that for future projects. Overall, the pictures were great and she had good photography skills.

3.         I loved her art gallery images as well because they look very professional and put together. None of her work was the same as mine. The piece that made the biggest impact of me was Kill Yourself. She was spot on with her explanation and it event gave me chills. Its crazy to see something be so fun and happy but have a deeper and darker meaning.
